Shirlee LaRae Evans Bradford

 

Shirlee LaRae Evans Bradford passed away surrounded by her family on February 6, 2018 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was 88.

Shirlee was born on June 17, 1929 in Springville, Utah to Lester Hyrum and Sarah Lapreal Harrington Evans. She graduated from Springville High School with the class of 1946. Shirlee worked at Lamar’s Café in Springville where she met her husband, Ned. They were married on April 30, 1948 and were later sealed in the Boise, Idaho Temple on February 20, 1965. Ned and Shirlee had 5 children together; Doug, Connie, Andrew, Susan and Tommy, who was stillborn. They raised their family in Spanish Fork and Lander, Wyoming.

Shirlee spent most of her adult life working as a seamstress for Utah Sportswear. She loved to use her talents to make blankets, clothes and crafts for friends and family. Shirlee also enjoyed to work in her yard and took great pride in being able to mow her lawn into her 80’s. She loved walking her dog, Ramzey and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. You could never leave her house without being given a treat.

Shirlee is survived by her children; Doug (Gayle) Bradford, Connie (Craig) Necaise, Ande Bradford and son-in-law, Craig Hamilton; 18 grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ned; her siblings, Wayne, Beth, Helen, Baby Boy Evans, Marjorie and Jerry; her son, Tommy and her daughter, Susan.

Services will be held on February 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS 3rd Ward building located at 575 West 400 North, Spanish Fork, UT. Visitors may call upon the family 1 hour prior to the services or at Walker Mortuary in Spanish Fork from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 11th. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.

The family would like to express gratitude to Beehive House of SF and Maple Creek Hospice for the love and compassion they showed to Shirlee in her final days.
