Dona Lois Johnson Jensen



Dona Jensen of Spanish Fork, UT passed away peacefully on July 10, 2017, at Timpanogos Hospital in Orem, with her son at her side. Born May 29, 1939, in Salt Lake City, to Don Franklin Johnson and Lois Frances Miller Johnson, Dona spent much of her youth in mining towns in South America, returning to Salt Lake City to attend Rowland Hall High School for Girls. She attended the University of Texas, and transferred to the University of Utah where she received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She lived in Idaho for a time, and later returned to Utah to raise two children, Tom Jensen and Debbie Mellor-Jensen, in her family’s home town of Spanish Fork. She worked for many years at Zion Bank. She loved music, and was chorister for her church ward. She is survived by her children and four grandchildren.

Viewing will be Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 10:30 – 11:30 am, at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main St., Spanish Fork, followed by a dedication of the grave and interment at Spanish Fork Cemetery at 12:00 pm. A memorial service will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Humane Society of Utah. The family would like to thank the staff at Canterbury Assisted Living, the staff and nurses at Timpanogos Regional Hospital, and Community Nursing Services for the kind and compassionate care they provided Dona.
