Dirk Gaven Hoffman

Dirk Gaven Hoffman, 33, of Mapleton, Utah passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 from an ongoing battle with addiction. He was born January 29, 1984 to Ronald Chris and Roxann Fraughton Hoffman. He graduated from Springville High School in 2002.

Dirk was a skilled framer and carpenter. He was meticulous and took pride in his work. He enjoyed fishing, boating, dancing, computers, automotive electronics, music and bowling.

Dirk had a zest for life. He loved to make people laugh. He was outgoing, friendly, kindhearted, fun and spontaneous.  No matter what obstacles he was facing he was always glad to help others.

His daughter, McKenzie, was the light of his life and he loved to spend time with her. They were best friends.  He spent hours building her an amazing tree house.  He loved the outdoors and shared that with McKenzie by taking her camping and roasting marshmallows.  He was a loving uncle, and strived to attend their life events.  Dirk loved giving and receiving hugs. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Dirk is survived by his daughter, McKenzie Cherie Ann Hoffman (13); his parents Ronald and Roxann Hoffman; a brother, Trent (Shydra) Hoffman, of Spanish Fork; and a sister, Shanoa (Alex) Gardiner; his nephews, Gabe and Porter; and his nieces, Béla and Ellie, of Mountain View, WY.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Paxton Property located in Hobble Creek Canyon, 127 Left Fork Hobble Creek Road (1.2 miles from the left hand fork). The funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Family and friends may gather to visit at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
