Barbara Haymore Nielsen

Barbara Haymore Nielsen, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Provo, Utah, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born March 15, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Franklin R. and Lela Finlayson Haymore. She enjoyed having a large, loving family to support her as she grew.  She attended schools in Provo and graduated from Provo High School in 1974.

She married Blake M. Nielsen on September 24, 1979 in Leland, Utah. They are the proud parents of six children and 16 grandchildren.  Barbara’s family was her greatest joy in life and they will miss her dearly.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, crafts, crocheting, camping, and being with her grandchildren.

Barbara worked as the Lunch Clerk at Spanish Fork High School and was the Manager of “The Annex”, which is part of “MacAnthonys”. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barbara served in many ways, including Primary Teacher, Homemaking Leader, Relief Society Cooking Class Teacher, and as Young Womens President.  She was always willing to help, and served everyone she knew.

Barbara is survived by her sweetheart, Blake; children, Jeremy (Windy) Nielsen, Payson, Utah; Justin (Allyson) Nielsen, Payson, Utah; Jina (Brett) Carter, Genola, Utah; Julie (Kyle) Beals, Santaquin, Utah; Jordan (CJ) Nielsen, Eureka, Utah; and Joni Nielsen, Spanish Fork, Utah; 16 grandchildren whom she adored; and siblings, Ronald (Mary) Haymore, Ralph (Jeannine) Haymore, Lloyd (Helen) Farr, Randy (Jillyn) Haymore, Robert (Shauna) Haymore; and a brother-in-law, Lee Childs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lela Haymore; brother, Ross Haymore; and sister, Mary Ellen Haymore Childs.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork West Stake Center Chapel, 575 West 400 North, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.

    I will miss her beautiful smile and contagious laugh, that is one of my favorite memories of her when I was younger. She always made me feel happy just to be around her.
